I was gone for about 7 months, and my car was not run. Now that I’m back, I tried starting my car, but it wouldn’t start. Then I used jumper cables, and it started. Does anybody have an idea of what could be wrong? My battery is only about a year or 2 old…

I found out recently that my car battery is totally dead, I need to jump start the car but I don’t have jumper cables, a way to get to the auto stores or someone to jump start it for me. Are there any ways to re-charge the battery? It’s not a stick-shift

My boyfriend wants to buy an old Thunderbird(Not sure the year) it has no battery in it and he wants to see if it runs would it be possible to hook jumper cables up to the battery terminals and try to start it?
