Okay, the situation is we’re gonna go charge a battery at different voltage and of course at different currents. Now I want to know if there’s a relation or some sort of a formula, I just want to confirm the results, thanks.

How do you determine if a AA sized or any other NiMH is fully charged or not? Can you do it with a multi-tester? Do I measure just the voltage alone? If just voltage, what are the values for fully charged batteries?

I read an article that said charging a battery after it is fully depleted will shorten the life. It said to charge batteries when there is still a little bit of energy in it. Is this true and what is the best way to charge lithium-ion batteries??

HP (Hewlett-Packard) recommends discharging fully and recharging a lithium battery because it makes it last longer whereas, Dell doesn’t recommend it discharging fully and recharging it to increase the life of the lithium battery. Which of these is right apparently?
My car broke down on me again and we’ve been charging the battery on an external charger for a couple of hours now so we can see if it was the battery or my alternator. I was just wondering if that’s typical or not for the charge to take so long.
