This product's name says it all...Simple Start! It's easy to store in the car and it gives me a piece of mind to know it's there for my loved ones if needed!

I've tried this in three different cars now and none of them were recharged with this unit. Each time the unit complained about one thing or another. It's rather finicky. I should have known that the smaller form factor ones really are not worth it in the long run.

Is it really for convenience? I don't know about you, but I really don't want to be sitting around waiting 30 minutes while I wait for this thing to hopefully charge my stuff (again, 0/3 batting average) I'd rather have the full sized deals that have alligator clips so I can connect right to my battery and be done in <30 seconds. Gimme a break. Are we all so delicate that we really need to sit in our car and plug a gizmo in, HOPE it works and 30 minutes later find out?

The other reviewers are all lazy in my opinion. Get the bigger devices, stuff it in your trunk and move on. I'll take 30 seconds of charging in the pouring rain over 30 minutes waiting for this thing to work...

Since I don't carry this in my car now, let me tell you how I use it. I have a cool battery powered lawn mower that requires a full time trickle charge. A little modification to the cable on the Simple Start and I've got my lawnmower always charged! At least it didn't go to waste.

I didn't give this a 1 star because Black and Decker makes good stuff and I know this must work for some because of the prior reviews, but again... L A Z Y!

This is a good product, Amazon sent two of them instead of one, they said they would send me a shipping label to send the second one back, so far they haven't.

I haven't needed to use this product but feel secure knowing it is in the trunk of my car in case my battery fails. Great product from a good company.

At this time I am not able to rate the performance of this product....
It is one of those things that you buy...hoping never to use!...
It appears to be of good quality and the flashlight function works good, however, I can't rate it's performance until I have had an emergency situation in which to test it.
