I love my Akoos AK100 inverter. I have used it 8 hrs per day on occasion and it doesn't heat up or misbehave in any way. I had read reviews of Black&Decker's inverter being noisy, but the AK is completely silent. My Hitachi DVD player is only 20 watts, so it doesn't cause the AK any problems, but of course there are many inverters out there with higher watt ratings. As long as you don't need to run a refrigerator or blow-dryer, the AK might work for you.

I was a little apprehensive about getting an inverter, because an electrical problem with the car is one of the last things I would care to think about. However, the spec sheet says the AK has built-in protection mechanisms to protect both the car and itself. I've had it for a couple of months and am thoroughly glad I got it. I wish I had got it sooner.
